Last weekend SW and I hosted a party. Our house was filled with friends, family, tasty food, and wonderful conversation. A lovely combination.
It was a Thank You party for all the special people in our life who have helped us in some sort of a way with this cancer thing. The list of gifts we have received over the last two years is a mile long. A party seemed like the best way, and favorite way, for us to say Thanks, Amazing People!
I spent a large portion of the party sitting down. Fortunately, I was surrounded by my dearest girlfriends who were staying on top of things by refilling platters of food or putting flowers in water. This was exactly what I needed to survive into the night. We had a keg of Laurelwood Red, I really wanted to be able to enjoy a pint, sitting next to the toasty fire at dark.
The reason for the party was to say Thank You. What came out of it was so much more for me. Friends from all areas of my life were able to see me feeling well. I was smiling, laughing, and even talking smack during driveway bean-bag bocce ball. Oddly, it was exactly what I would want at my Celebration of Life. The best part…I was able to participate!
A dear friend said to me days after the gathering, “It was Celebration of Life at the right time.” Exactly my thoughts.
What a nice event!! It was very clear how much love and support you and Spencer have from your friends and family. Thank you for including me! xxoo
Loved your presence, Jamie. xoxo
Kim-Spencer it was a great party !! you are the best love you guys!!!
Back atcha Matisse!
Your house, your people, your party all reflect how precious you are. I loved meeting your folks. And I really, really love that the same skills that you bring to daily life have allowed you to create the most kick ass medical team of anyone I know. You are truly going to live for as long as possible and I am thinking that might just be a long time.
xoxo

I’m very satisfied on many fronts. I have wonderful support people in my life. I have a brilliant and caring set of doctors and nurses working for me. I am set up to be as successful as one can be.

I love my new friend! I promise to give it a good loving home. BTW, what’s it’s name? A crystal of this size needs a name. Perhaps we can name it over tea. ? xoxo
thanks for posting the images – looks like a perfect gathering – full of love and lots of laughs and happiness! and your home looks like an example of “how one SHOULD decorate a space”
Thank you for the home compliment Gwendolyn. I love my little space so much.
It felt really great to participate in a party with most of my loved ones near. The importance of the event really snuck up on me. I’m glad it did though; made it that much more memorable.
