The Dr S check up this week was not as uneventful as I wished it would be. That pesky spot in my upper left lobe seems to be on the move, again. This time in a much more traditional growing like cancer way. No getting around it this time, my cancer is becoming resistant to my good ol’ pal, Crizotinib. Not good news. Not devastating news.
I’m not noticing the impacts of the cancer growth. I’m tolerating Crizotinib quite well. This is when Dr S looks into his crystal ball and determines how much growth can I take and when is a treatment change necessary.
The current plan… I am going to stay on Crizotinib. I’ll likely stay on it for 8-weeks; followed by a scan. It is presumed that I’ll show more growth at that 8-week scan and it will warrant a treatment change. Remember, I’m trying to eek out as much time on a drug as possible.
The LDK378 trial in Seattle, Washington is looking like my best next step. I’m trying to not think about it. That is why the truck will soon be loaded up with camping gear. We will be off to go play in the dirt!
…next week brain MRI results… See why I need a weekend away!
Thinking of you, Kim!!
Don’t get mangled this weekend – Happy riding! xoxo
Thanks, Kim! 🙂
Have a gold week Ned over all. …Lot of good thinking from France. Raphael and Lydia
From France? I feel so special. 🙂
Sooooooo psyched that you’re coming to Leavenworth this weekend! Woo hooo!!!!!!!
Loved every minute of the trip. (Nearly all, the rain was a bit of a downer.) xoxo
This is a significant point you are at, but I have a feeling you will blaze the trail to the next phase of treatment and show us the way to follow you. You have an army of support, have fun in the dirt.
I don’t feel like much of a blazer but OK. (I am blushing.)
PS- the dirt was great!
WOW! Definitely time for a re-charging weekend. I know you will be your great trooper-self when the time comes to make more changes. Just enjoy the weekend. Give our best to Spencer as well. Love, Paula & Danny
I do get resistant to all the changes. But, when you break it down to live or die, decisions get very easy to make. …for those of us who can financially afford to make such decisions.
Love to you both!
Thinking of you. Hope you have a great weekend!
Weekend was delightful. Hope you had a nice long one too Sharon!
run, Kimmy, run!
I did and loved it!
Have fun in the dirt. Know you are loved.
Yay! I do feel loved… 🙂
Enjoy your camping weekend! I hope the sun finds you. Love you!
For the most part it did. So did the rain though. xoxo
Oooo! While personally I have never nor can ever understand camping. I guess I’m just old but a cabin without a phone is camping to me. On hte other hand playing in the dirt, rocks!!!
I’m not a roughing-it kind of camper. SW has the truck dialed in for car camping…down comforter and all! I’m no backpacker. That is hard work!
Kim: Hope you an SW had fun in the sun … mud! We pitched the new tent in the back yard and placed the 10’x10′ sun shade over it! Let it rain, Leighanne, J.C. (7 year old Grandson) and I slept there Sat. and Sun. nights! One of us snores and it’s not me! Hope you had fun!!!
Crizotinib can’t take the summer off! More positive thoughts your way! Hoping for slow/no growth in 8 weeks! Mark H.
What a wonderful way to spend the weekend! I did miss a standard toilet.
No growth would be great. That would make me oh-so-happy. 🙂
hope you’re camping trip is/was fun!
your not you’re!
It was wonderful. I’m already thinking of when to go back.
