This week, I was referred to two internet goodies by two great friends. I’m quite fond of them both, and the links they sent me. I thought I would share.
The first is an article is on ‘How NOT to Say the Wrong Thing to Someone’. It works in all kinds of crises – medical, legal, even existential. It’s the ‘Ring Theory’ of kvetching. The first rule is comfort in, dump out. Read the full LA Times article here.
The second is the website for ‘Consano: Hope. Honor. Heal.‘ Consano is a platform that enables you to donate any amount directly to a medical research project that matters to you (if it is on their list of options). 100% of your donation goes directly to support the project of your choice. Visit the website here.
Happy reading!
Hi Kim – I wanted to thank you for helping get the word out about Consano. I came across your blog from a tweet that mentioned our org, and I wanted to let you know that it means the most to me when other patients give it the thumbs up (given I created it from my own patient perspective). I’m very inspired by your story and your willingness to share your world. We are actively working to get a lung cancer project up on the site. I’ll keep you posted when that happens. In the meantime, I’m sending you lots of good, healthy vibes. Molly
Molly,
I’m happy to promote projects that appeal to me. Do keep me in the loop on LC projects that come up.
Kim

Naomi
Enjoy!
Thank you for sharing the articles Kim. I have learned so much from you. You tackle everything, even Cancer with such strength, positive energy and determination. If you need motivation to keep writing I hope this helps. I believe your postings not only help those of us walk with you on this journey – but they also educate us and inspire us. Keep on fighting and I can’t wait to see a new photo with you showing off some earrings!
Thank you for your kind words Patty. Once the ears heal entirely from radiation I’ll be sporting the big ‘n’ gaudy once again.
Kim, HI, I am Pam. I have a seven year old boy that has been on Crizotinib for two years now. I have a google alert for crizotinib, so that is how I found you. Thank you for sharing your journey. It is neat to be able to connect with other people that are on this drug. Hope you continue to do well. Prayers for you, Kim!
Pam,
Days later and my jaw is finally lifted off the ground. Seven- no typo? I see what my parents go though with an ill 30-something. With that experience, I still have a difficult time drawing a conclusion to what it must be like for you. I wish you and the rest of your family well.
Kim
