Now that I’m medically disabled my medical insurance comes from SW’s employer.  They announced a few weeks ago that they will be switching from ODS to United Healthcare.

My first reaction was panic.  Is my oncologist on the list of in-network doctors?

Now, after the freak-out is over I’m pretty excited about the change.  Most importantly, Dr S is on the in-network list of doctors.  A very close second is many nationally recognized lung cancer specialists are also on the list.  If/when the day comes that I’ll need to travel for excellent care my medical coverage will travel with me.

January 1st is when the change will happen.  The days following that will be hectic getting pre-approvals processed.  This will be my 3rd medical insurance company in a year…I’m certain I’ll make it through just fine.
