I have some big events over the next few weeks that I thought I had a good handle on but waking up at 6:00 am today thinking about them tells me something different. Darn!

Monday, September 12th I have a PET scan (PET/CT) scheduled at Epic. This scan will measure the effectiveness of my cancer treatment. The goal is for the scan to show me with no active cancer cells but the 4 possible outcomes are: did the cancer cells grow; did the cancer cells stay the same; did the cancer cells shrink; or did the cancer cells die.

Tuesday, September 20th I have an appointment with Dr Wynne, my radiation oncologist, to go over the results of my PET scan.

Monday, October 3rd is my planned return to work date.  I will start with a very part time schedule and work my way up to full time in January.  The key to “going back to work” is if I can perform the functions of my job NOT if I am cancer free or not.
