Radon

How does a nearly health obsessed, 34-year old, non-smoker end up with Stage 3b Lung Cancer?

The exact cause is unknown, however, one theory is that I’ve been exposed to high levels of Radon.

Fall 2010, when SW and I started our high-gear house hunt, is when I first learned about Radon.  SW was adamant that our future home would be tested.  I agreed…because I love him not because I was seriously concerned.  Perhaps I would have been/should have been if I read this before a few days ago.

If any Portlanders are looking to get your home tested we had a good experience working with EcoTech.  They performed the testing and based on the results we contracted them to install the radon mitigation system.  Regardless of the contractor you select make sure you communicate with them directly on the system placement.  It can be tricky finding a suitable location that is both functional and fashionable.
